The PT says his hypotonia may be caused by loose ligaments, which can be genetic. All that means is he may be more prone to sprain his ankles, but should not affect his overall athletic ability. Pete has sprained his ankles numerous times, so it may well be what Egan has. They were really impressed with Egan's ball throwing skills. He is a baseball pitcher in training, just like his dad.
We are sooo relieved that it is nothing serious and he is developing normally. Egan is walking all the time now and even climbs up onto the kitchen table (via a chair). He is very active and just took longer than other kids to get moving, but that's okay.
I will say the Bellevue Public School System is wonderful. They were quick and very attentive to Egan's needs. I am really impressed with their Early Intervention Program. Even though Egan didn't qualify, we will have access to their other programs until Egan is five, just because we were referred. They will also check up on Egan's development in three months.
